Hi, Please see below:
I think that even before that, there could be a memo?
That could be done.
There is a line: Relaxation data list could that be: Relaxation data list - Add R1, R2 and NOE data for at least two fields?
For aesthetics, that would not look so great. There is probably a better way.
Or maybe in "About" button, even though that is a little hidden.
Users often will not click on an 'About' button. There is already one 'About' button for the model-free auto-analysis andm from mailing list messages, I can say that most will never click on it! A better way would be to create a wizard page, but this time show that wizard page at the start of the relaxation data loading (when clicking on both 'Add' buttons). It would need to be optional though, as the same GUI element could be used for other analysis types in the future, specifically reduced spectral density mapping. This wizard page could be very similar to the ending wizard page of the new analysis wizard. It could say that multiple field strength data is essential. Then present only two buttons 'Next' and 'Cancel'. That would really slap the user in the face, they could not miss it :)
The warning: Insufficient relaxation data, 4 or more data sets are essential for the execution of the dauvergne_protocol auto-analysis. Could be changed to: Insufficient relaxation data, 4 or more data sets are essential for the execution of the dauvergne_protocol auto-analysis. Check that you have added data from at least two fields.
This sounds very reasonable.
For the manual: Make a chapter 7.0 - Introduction What is needed to perform modelfree analysis. R1, R2, NOE input files, which can be created with relax. Make each analysis independent, before executing model-free That you need two fields, and the user should read: http://wiki.nmr-relax.com/Model-free_analysis_single_field if they have data for only one field. Something like that. Not much, but to help people not wasting time, if they start preparing their data for relax (since they have data) and after 3-5 days simply can't understand why it is not working. :-)
This is good, the start of the model-free chapter is really too strong. Diving directly into theory is tough. But this will need to be expanded and clarified a little. Multiple field strength data is only required for the auto-analysis, hence the GUI as well. But relax handles single field strength data no problem as well, it's just that the user must create their own analysis and protocol in a script. There is no auto-analysis to deliberately make it hard for non-experienced users - those who should be collecting multiple field strength data. Single field strength data analysis is only for power users. The model-free chapter is general and not just about the auto-analysis, so we need to keep this clear. Cheers, Edward
